Westmoreland County Community College is looking to fill a regular part-time (19hrs.
/wk) Food Lab Assistant for the Youngwood campus.
This position is responsible to prepare food labs, monitor and maintain equipment and inventory, and to oversee work study students under faculty supervision.
Essential Functions:
JOB SPECIFIC Maintain and administer food labs and provide instructional support to the hospitality programs.
Maintain accurate monitoring controls of inventory and equipment.
Ensure security of the lab and equipment during assigned work hours.
Assist with cleaning, maintenance and repair of instructional equipment where applicable in the food labs.
Essential Functions:
STANDARD TO THE ROLE Oversee day-to-day tasks of assigned work study students.
Accurately maintain records and submit reports as required.
Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional development and cross training opportunities.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Participate in departmental meetings, various committees and professional organizations as required.
Perform additional grade level duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING Associate Degree in related field required.
Food service experience preferred.
Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards in current and prior positions.
CLEARANCES The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:
PA Child History clearance PA Criminal Record Check clearance FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Typically required on a regular basis to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
) CONSTANTLY INCURRED (more than 75% time on job) Specific visual requirements Use of depth perception Use of color vision FREQUENTLY INCURRED (25 - 75% time on job) Ability to stand, walk, & sit Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
